One of the grittiest visions of the apocalypse has been playing out for a while in the Vertigo Comics series Suiciders, and we have the scoop on the next chapter.

We caught up with Lee Bermejo, who is writing and drawing Suiciders: Kings of Hell.A, to talk about the new series at New York Comic Con 2016. The saga marks  Bermejo's return to the Suiciders universe, so we chat with him about his vision for the series and how being an immigrant impacted his approach to the narrative. He tells us about his visual influences for the series and what it takes to build a post-apocalypse that practically “smells like piss” (his words, not ours).

Bermejo also told us about plans for the next collected volume of Suiciders, which shifts the story into chronological order. Though it might see obvious, Bermejo said it gives the narrative a different feel by reordering those stories.
