There are few characters who have been interpreted in as many ways as the Joker, so we caught up with DC artist Lee Bermejo to talk about how he put his own spin on the Clown Prince of Crime.
Bermejo was the artist on the Joker graphic novel, and he said he always finds a certain degree of fun in drawing an evil character. It’s not all that hard to draw the Joker, he said, but it gets tougher when you’re trying to make him look sick and twisted. His trick? Make the Joker look like a guy “you wouldn’t want to meet.” Oh, and he also reveals where he drew inspiration from for his version of The Joker (Christopher Walken?!). Now that is some legit fan-casting.
