DC Comics is enjoying a modern day renaissance thanks to Rebirth, so we caught up with the two guys pulling the strings to find out what’s coming next.

At New York Comic Con, the company’s co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan Didio told us all about the pending crossover between the Justice League and Suicide Squad. Both ‘books received a refresh as part of Rebirth (and Suicide Squad is getting a major push in the wake of the film release, obviously), and the publishers said Justice League vs. Suicide Squad will give fans some great fights and some creative team-ups (i.e. the key art featuring Batman and Harley Quinn on the same side with a mishmash of weapons).

The duo also joke about biting off a bit more than they can chew in the wake of the ambitious Rebirth initiative, and the publisher’s pending plans to honor comic legend Jack Kirby for the work he did at DC Comics over the years. At one time, the man was writing, drawing and editing a ‘book a week. Crazy.

Last but not least, Lee and Didio talked about Warren Ellis’ new work bringing the Wildstorm universe back to life with a growing slate of releases (which will exist apart from the main DC universe, it’s worth noting).
