Doomsday ain't messing around in an exclusive new clip from the upcoming Warner Brothers Animation adaptation of The Death of Superman.
After crash-landing on Earth in a meteor, the iconic villain goes on a rampage of total destruction that can't even be stopped by Justice League members Batman, Hawkman, and Green Lantern. Since the film is based on the 1992 storyline of the same name, some elements are obviously updated.
For instance, the clip begins with a young woman filming Doomsday on her cell phone, which was obviously not a thing in the early 1990s. While the Kryptonian abomination arrives on our planet with a full body spacesuit, it gradually gets destroyed via his various battles with the DC heroes until his recognizable red-eyed, spiked form is fully visible.
Watch Hawkman get his a** handed to him in the clip below.
The Death of Superman enjoyed its world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con and included a bunch of clever Easter eggs and gags involving Superman's secret identity and the Richard Donner films. You can download the movie on digital or pick up a physical copy when it hits home video August 7.
With a cast that includes Jerry O’Connell (Superman), Rebecca Romijn (Lois Lane), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Rainn Wilson (Lex Luthor), and Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), this is one animated event you don't want to miss.
