Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal celebrates its 35th anniversary this week and if you can't think of another all-puppet fantasy film made since then, you're not alone.

Both ingenious and transportive, this dark fable from the Muppet creator was a revelation when it first appeared in 1982 and revolutionized what could be accomplished by human performers inside intricately crafted artificial creatures.

Take a fantastic voyage to the triple-sunned planet of Thra and spend some time with Jen, Kira, Aughra, Fizzgig, Garthim, Mystics, and the hideous Skeksis to see exactly how Henson and his talented team were able to pull off this monumental $15 million epic.

No strings attached!

The Dark Crystal will be making a rare return to movie theaters on Sunday, February 25, and Wednesday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Each remastered 4K (in select theaters) screening will also introduce a new featurette with Lisa Henson (CEO and President of The Jim Henson Company), who will reflect on the making of the one-of-a-kind film and its creative legacy.

Tickets for The Dark Crystal can be purchased beginning Friday, January 12 online at FathomEvents or participating box offices.
