The first season was a slow boil of space opera and intrigue, and now we have some fresh intel on Season 2 of The Expanse.

The Syfy (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed) series is gearing up for its return in 2017, so we caught up with the source books' writers, Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham, to talk about the new season. The duo touched on how the storyline bleeds between the books and TV series (they’re currently writing the seventh book in the series), and their creative approach.

Looking ahead to Season 2, the writers noted the first year was all about building this world and setting the stakes and tension for what would come next. For Year 2, they said the approach is all about dealing with the suspense and knowing the world — but not actually knowing what comes next. They also talk about the new characters being introduced in Season 2, and it sounds like the fresh faces should be well worth meeting.
