Brock Rumlow had a building dropped on him in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, only to show up as Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War, where he promptly exploded next to a building, kicking off the impetus for the Sokovia Accords. Despite dying on screen, he won't be absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe if the man who plays him has anything to say.
"Hopefully down the road somewhere, Crossbones comes back," said Frank Grillo, who still wants another crack at Rumlow. Resurrections are usually the norm in the world of comics, so he's keeping an open mind. "He was blown up, but they're comic book movies."
The character has had a long history in the Marvel Universe, allying himself with Red Skull, fighting Daredevil, and running a crime gang in New York's Lower East Side, so it would be a shame to write him out of the movies permamently. Who knows, maybe he'll show up in the star-studded Infinity War on May 4, 2018.
