We might have to wait more than a year for the next season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, but the cast and crew were on hand at San Diego Comic-Con to talk about what we can expect when winter eventually arrives.

We caught up with John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarly on HBO’s hit series, to discuss the new season and the eventual end of the series. Game of Thrones will return for a new season in 2017, and will continue to tell the tale that goes beyond the books author George R.R. Martin has written, delving into details for The Winds of Winter and beyond. The producers have teased the series will likely wrap up in 2018, with two 6-7 episode seasons remaining.

Here’s an excerpt from his comments:

“We can feel it coming to a end. It’s fascinating, because we’ve never known how the story ends. we still don’t quite know what type of story we’re telling … as the story kind of draws to a close, we’re just looking forward to all those questions being answered, as well.”

Game of Thrones returns for a new season in the summer of 2017.
