DC Comics is about to launch its streaming service DC Universe, opening up tantalizing new ways to dive into DC's original series, classic TV shows and movies, as well as the comics that inspired them. As announced on the live-stream first episode of DC Daily, DC Universe is launching on Saturday, Sept. 15 (aka Batman Day) with an initial lineup that includes Batman: The Animated Series and the classic Batman movies. That’s fitting, because SYFY WIRE was recently invited to take a peek at The Ultimate Batman Studio Tour sweepstakes at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California.
Fans who sign up for DC Universe at the official site before Sept. 10 will be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Hollywood, where the winners will get to take the Batman studio tour and see the various Bat-memorabilia up close. As you can see in this video, we got a preview of what the winner can expect to revel in, including a look at the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s Batman and other vehicles used by the Caped Crusader on the big screen.
Winners of the DC Universe contest will also get a tour of DC’s offices in Burbank, which includes access to areas of the office we weren’t allowed to show you. Additionally, the contest winners will also get the chance to meet with the DC Comics editors. For this video, we spoke with DC's Chief Creative Officer, publisher and comic book legend, Jim Lee. And you can tell that he likes us, because he only called security on us once!
Lee also shared a few additional details about what fans can expect from DC Universe, as well as some ideas for the service that may be implemented down the line. Check it out in the full video!
