It's been five years since one of TV's greatest sci-fi scientists, Walter Bishop, walked out of our lives as Fringe completed its five-season run. Aussie thespian John Noble created that indelible character, and has since played recurring characters in Sleepy Hollow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Salvation.
For the Halloween season, Noble has a new big-screen role in Lorena Villarreal's latest film, Silencio, where he plays researcher Dr. James White. When White is investigating a meteorite site in Mexico's Zona Del Silencio, he comes across a radioactive rock that becomes the conduit to his time travel.
It's an emotional tale of family, alternate realities, and even an important character named Peter (played by Rupert Graves), all of which had us waxing hardcore nostalgic for Noble and Fringe.
We talked to him about our Walter love, Noble getting to explore the weirdness of the notorious Zone of Silence, and the most important thing for him when it comes to picking sci-fi projects.
Silencio opens in theaters today, Oct. 26, 2018.
