The latest Alien sequel looks to be a throwback to the classic era of sci-fi horror, and we caught up with star Katherine Waterston to talk about the film.

Waterston plays the new character Daniels, so we chatted with her about everything from how the movie scared her on first viewing to finding the best way to tell this story amidst all the horror involved. She also touched on the legacy of the original Alien and how it's still terrifying to this day.

With Waterston stepping into the female hero role made famous by Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, she also talked about what it's like taking on that type of role. Despite any potential parallels, Waterston said Daniels is still her own woman.

Alien: Covenant opens May 19. Check out the interviews below and let us know what you think.
