SYFY's upcoming Superman prequel series, Krypton, will teleport fans back to an earlier generation on the Man of Steel's home planet when it arrives on March 21.
Set 200 years before Kal-El was born, Krypton centers around the untold life of Superman's grandfather, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), and a prediction of future doom delivered by time-traveling archaeologist Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos). Besides guarding the respected House of El from rival families, Seg-El must rise into society and navigate the turbulent political climate of Krypton while also trying to make sure that his god-like grandson is born to help protect the entire universe.
One of the other plot mechanics conjured up by creators David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler is a controversial romance between Seg-El and Lyta Zod (Georgina Campbell).
SYFY WIRE sat down with Krypton star Cameron Cuffe to discuss how this forbidden love story plays out in the series, diving into the infamous planet's past, holding a copy of Action Comics #1, his character's qualities and connections to Superman, and the supreme pleasures of playing in the DC toy box.
Krypton premieres on SYFY on Wednesday, March 21.
