CBS's The Big Bang Theory wrapped up its 11th season last night with a momentous ocassion, the nuptials of Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Biyalik). With such a major bit of character development, you know they had to really pull out all the stops with star-studded guest cameos. The list included Kathy Bates, Brian Posehn, Wil Wheaton, Teller (of Pen and Teller fame), and, of course, Mark Hamill, who was just the icing on top of the nerdy cake.
In a new featurette released by the show's official YouTube account, you can watch members of the cast (and Hamill himself) discuss the epic guest appearance.
"After we had Stephen Hawking on [the show], people would say, 'who else would you wanna have on the show? You can't think of anyone bigger than Stephen Hawking,' but then Mark Hamill is on this episode," says Bialik.
Fun fact: Hamill has known Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz) since Helberg was 9-years-old because he went to school with Hamill's son, Nathan.
The Star Wars actor plays himself in the Season 11 finale, picking up his lost dog, which was found by Helberg. The dog's name? Bark Hamill. Mark not only ends up at Sheldon and Amy's wedding, but he also officiates the ceremony for them.
"I'm a nerd myself, that's why I think [the show] is so relatable," Hamill says. "Here, you have these people that you couldn't touch intellect-wise, but they have such common, everyday passions for comic books, and video games and all of that stuff."
