Watch Mark Hamill's reaction to Star Wars: The Last Jedi's title reveal

The whole nerd internet freaked out a little bit Monday morning when Lucasfilm finally announced that we don't just have to call the next Star Wars film "Episode VIII" anymore. The Last Jedi is a powerful title for the film, and like The Force Awakens before it, it's a title loaded with potential meaning.

So far, I've seen theories about the new title ranging from Snoke (because there's always a Snoke theory) to Rey to a resurrected Yoda, but the most obvious person tied to the phrase "Last Jedi" is Luke Skywalker, who apparently stood alone until he tried to train a new generation of students ... only to be left alone again after Kylo Ren's betrayal. Snoke even drops the phrase himself during The Force Awakens while discussing Luke's possible return, and we know we're in for a lot of the character in the next film. So it's only natural that the Associated Press would ask Mark Hamill about his reaction to the title just a short while after it was announced.

Hamill's first response: He's known for ages, ever since writer/director Rian Johnson told him during filming, and he was sick of having to keep it a secret.

"I said, 'Don’t tell me these things! I talk in my sleep!’ They have us so jacked up with paranoia over leaks," Hamill said. "It's funny, back when we were making the original, nobody cared."

As for the substance of the title, Hamill's obviously not going to drop any plot details, but he did say he likes the "real samurai" vibe of it, as well as its minimalism.

Check out the full video of Mark Hamill's reaction below, then sit back and wait for the rest of the cast to offer vague reactions on video (because you know they'll all get asked).
