After a debut at Disney's D23 Expo, the first trailer for Marvel Powers United, a new VR game coming to Oculus Rift in 2018, has landed. The trailer shows full gameplay as players step into the roles (and bodies) of the Incredible Hulk, Captain Marvel, and Rocket Raccoon for a virtual adventure.
From there, using the Rift headset and the Touch VR controlers, players enter a VR shooting gallery, playing the game as a first-person brawler and shooter using the appropriate abilities of the character. That means Hulk will smash, punch, and throw enemies around like rag dolls, Rocket will use his innovative weaponry and use his small size to his advantage, and Captain Marvel's energy blasts make short work of the Kree soldiers they face down in the trailer.
You can play the game single-player and in co-op, and the combat, based in increasingly difficult waves of enemies similar to co-op multiplayer modes in most shooters on the market today, should be easy to grasp. No exact release date nor a full playable roster was announced, but in addition to the three shown, Deadpool was also playable in demos at the show.
