The new NatGeo event Year Million takes a look at how the world could look one million years in the future. One thing almost certain to be a part of our future? Androids and artificial intelligence.

These exclusive clips from the six-part event below focus on the android Erica, the most sophisticated android of today and a potential precursor to what shape artificial intelligence will take in the future. Along with how a future AI might interact with humans, the feature also focuses on the look of these future robots — will humanity want straight-up metal robots, or something more akin to Blade Runner? That’s the question.

The series will feature interviews with technologists and scientists such as Ray Kurzweil, Michio Kaku, Peter Diamandis, Brian Greene and a whole lot more. It’s narrated by Matrix alum Laurence Fishburne.

Year Million premieres Monday May, 15, at 9/8c.
