To say Tim Seeley "hearts" Dick Grayson is to drastically understate their relationship.

The writer behind DC Comics' Nightwing title has been the driving force behind some of the best Grayson stories in the character's long history. From the Spy-Fi capers of Grayson, the solo series that put Bruce Wayne's original ward deep in the weeds of the Spyral covert ops agency, to the current hit series' exploration into his past, Seeley has done something that is always a monumental task: Make a 75+-year-old character seem fresh.

[Spoiler Alert: Seeley's got big plans for Spyral coming up that he discusses with us!]

During a conversation with Syfy Wire contributing editor Mike Avila, Seeley talks about how a misplaced action figure sparked his Robin fanboyism and even took umbrage with Frank Miller over comments about Dick Grayson's work as Batman's sidekick. Watch the video to see Seeley give his reasoning for why Grayson-as-Robin was such an important balancing point for the Batman mythos.
