If you couldn't join the thousands of fans at New York Comic Con 2018, then you may not know that the cosplayers were ready to dance at a moment's notice.
SYFY WIRE's Dany Roth went to NYCC and invited several fans to participate in our latest 180° Cosplay Dance-Off video. And now that we've had some time to recover from the con, we're sharing the footage with you! This is a video that’s best viewed with a headset to capture the full experience, but if you lack the hardware, you can still check out the different angles.
Catching up with these dancing fans made us think of 30 Rock’s "dance like no one's watching" motto. But in this case, everyone is watching and no one cares if the dancers aren't absolutely perfect with every move. The artistry behind the costumes is on full display even if they don't necessarily allow the fans to have complete mobility.
This year's costumes ran the gamut from films to TV shows, comics, and video games. Among our favorites were a Shredder and Krang duo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Overwatch's D.VA, Vision and Captain Marvel, Team Rocket, and one of the best Rita Repulsa cosplayers that we've ever seen. We were so impressed that we took a few extra pictures as well, which you can view in the gallery below.
