Titanic robots will grapple with killer kaiju in Pacific Rim: Uprising when director Steven S. DeKnight's (Spartacus, Daredevil) monster-mauling follow-up to Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim thunders into theaters next spring.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens' John Boyega headlines as Jake, the hot-headed son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost from the 2013 sci-fi film. He joins Rinko Kikuchi, returning as Mako Mori, for a steel-denting smack-down with the latest wave of crazy creatures emerging from an undersea interdimensional rift known as The Breach. Co-stars Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Karl Urban, Scott Eastwood, and Cailee Spaeny merge into the monstrous melee.

SYFY WIRE met with the cast and director at NYCC to preview the personalities of Pacific Rim 2's magnificent new Mark VI jaeger machines, mention new tricks from the colossal beasts, and hear what it was like taking the director's helm from del Toro.

Listen in and let us know if you'll be marching into the multiplex when Pacific Rim: Uprising arrives on March 23.
