Last we saw Paul Rudd as Scott Lang on the big screen was in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. After skipping out on the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the actor will be reprising the role of the thief-turned-superhero in Friday’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Rudd recently sat down with SYFY WIRE’s Aimee Castle for a one-on-one interview where the lovable actor shared what it was like working with Michael Douglas (who plays Hank Pym) the second time around. Learning from past mistakes, Rudd revealed that this time he didn’t try to Basic Instinct Douglas, and that he wasn’t as intimidated as he was when they filmed the first movie together.
The actor also touched upon reuniting with Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne/Wasp), with whom he had previously worked on 2007’s romantic comedy I Could Never Be Your Woman. Rudd also let us know the finer points of his Pfeiffer impression.
When asked about how excited he was about seeing Infinity War and for fans to see him in the fourth Avengers film (rumored to be titled Avengers: End Game), Rudd told us: “Well, I’m excited for people to see anything,” while jokingly adding that he loved Infinity War. “As far as Avengers 4, I’m very curious as to what the reaction will be. I don’t know much about it myself, so I can’t wait to see it.”
As always, there’s more in our exclusive interview with Paul Rudd, including his kids’ reactions to having a dad as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
