It's ridiculous, and was 100% a joke when the character first appeared. An anthropomorphic pig version of Spider-Man, Spider-Ham, was created in 1983 by Tom DeFalco and Mark Armstrong as a character just for fun, not to be taken seriously ... until he was.

After Spider-Ham's resurgence in the last few years, playing major roles in Spider-Man storylines and even massive Marvel Comics crossovers and showing up in video games and animated series, we thought it was time you got to know Peter Porker.

Did you know he was a spider bitten by a radioactive pig version of Aunt May?

Did you know he comes from an entire universe of animal-themed Marvel heroes and villains?

Have you heard of Ant-Ant?

If the answer is "No" to any of these questions, or you just want to learn more about Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham and have two minutes to kill, click play on the video below and prepare to be dazzled, amazed and probably a little confused!
