Not bad, right? Interesting that they're splitting this into multiple parts. One assumes that the beginning is the setup of this dystopian Gotham, the Mutants, and the state of superheroes. If you look closely, though, you'll catch the flash of a familiar grin from a certain archnemesis.

The big question is, how violent will they let this animated film be? It's hard not to recollect that Batman Beyond direct-to-DVD release, Return of the Joker being hampered by edits to make it more all-ages-friendly. Well, the Joker is just a mite more violent in Dark Knight Returns.

What we're saying is, DC, don't water this thing down. Bruce Timm's style is great as ever, just make sure this interpretation is as faithful as possible.

What did you think of the trailer?
