Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to the original 1982 sci-fi classic, has finally arrived. You can buy a ticket and go see it right now, and you really should. The film's two major stars, Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, are also still out promoting it, and that means we're getting more amusing stories from the set.
We already all know about the moment Ford accidentally punched Gosling. It's a story that's been told and re-told across magazine interviews and talk shows over the last couple of weeks. Gosling got a weird sort of revenge, though: He got to throw Ford across a room.
Ford and Gosling have, to give a minor spoiler, a confrontation in the film, and that means some physical violence. Gosling and Ford both did the scene themselves, so there's a moment when Gosling literally hurls his 75-year-old co-star over a couch. In a new interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Gosling described Ford's resilience in the moment, particularly in light of him having just been through a plane crash and an injury on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
"He came to set more fit than all of us put together," Gosling said of Ford. "It's just incredible."
In the clip below, you can hear more of Gosling describing how awesome Ford is, as well as see footage of the moment Ford has to take a dive over the couch. As you'll notice, Gosling ends the take by applauding his co-star.
Blade Runner 2049 is in theaters now.
