"The created me, but they cannot control me." Following last week's awesome Super Bowl teaser, Paramount has released a new full-length trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Ghost in the Shell.
The live-action adaptation starring Scarlett Johansson is based on the 1995 cyberpunk anime and 1989 manga series created by Masamune Shirow. ScarJo stars as kick-ass Section 9 leader Major Motoko Kusanagi, aka The Major. Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones) plays her right-hand man, Batou (the dude with the white hair and very weird eyes), while Michael Pitt (Boardwalk Empire, Hannibal) stars as the movie's villain, Kuze.
The latest trailer offers plenty of exciting new footage to sink your teeth into, including an extended look at Scarlett's cyborg and more interaction between The Major and Kuze. I don't know about you guys, but I'm really looking forward to this movie!
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, Ghost in the Shell follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost in the Shell also stars Takeshi Kitano (Zatoichi) as Lt. Col. Daisuke Aramaki and Juliette Binoche (Godzilla) as Dr. Ouelet. Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara and Tuwanda Manyimo round out the cast.
Ghost in the Shell opens on March 31.
