Last year, Tested.com's Adam Savage walked around San Diego Comic-Con dressed incognito as Han Solo's faithful sidekick, Chewbacca -- one of the few glorious places where such a get up will fit right in. This year, Savage went with another unrevealing costume, which also kept his true identity well hidden... mostly.
For this year's SDCC incognito walk, the former Mythbusters co-host and upcoming Mythbusters Jr. host made a replica of the very first spacesuit built and worn by famed aviator Wiley Post in 1934. SYFY WIRE caught up with Savage at The Con as he gave us some insight into how the costume was crafted.
Savage told us that over 1,000 yards of upholstery thread were used to get this costume together, and he believes he also managed to get his feet on the exact boots Post wore in 1934. Savage also recounted how Post wore the suit in the 1935 movie Air Hawks, and that the original suit is now on display in the Smithsonian.
Watch as Adam Savage dons this stunning spacesuit replica while wondering how long it will take for someone to recognize him this year (last year, someone found him out in about eight minutes).
