The first season of Freeform's Cloak & Dagger is rapidly coming to a close, but the cast and showrunner came to Comic-Con to meet fans, announce the second season, and tease the remaining episodes. The series has completely reinvented the mythology of the original Marvel characters, while allowing Aubrey Joseph's Cloak/Tyrone and Olivia Holt's Dagger/Tandy a chance to become more fully realized. According to both Joseph and Holt, they immediately connected with their characters even though they are sometimes difficult to portray.
"Once we got the script, I fell in love with the character," Joseph told SYFY WIRE. "It took a while to get used to Tyrone, because I feel like we're very different in certain ways, but we're also very alike in a lot of ways too, so I guess I caught on pretty quickly and it's just a joy playing Tyrone."
"I think the same with me," added Holt. "I fell in love with Tandy very quickly and her story and to be able to portray such a young female character who is bold and resilient and confident, but complicated and has all of these things on her plate but is learning how to cope with them. I think you have to empathize with the character to a certain degree in order to be able to portray them. With Tandy, I really just feel she was a challenge for me."
Joseph and Holt appeared alongside their co-stars Emma Lahana and Ally Maki, as well as showrunner Joe Pokaski. But if you want more details about the creation of the series and hints about the last few episodes of the season, watch the video below!
