One of the hottest booths at San Diego Comic-Con is Funko's corner of the show floor. Every year, they bring more and more exclusive figures from across the pop culture landscape. And at this year's Comic-Con, they revealed some enticing new exclusives for fans of the Marvel Studios movies.
"It's not just Avengers, it's everything Marvel Studios, going back ten years all the way back to the first Iron Man movie," said Funko's director of marketing, Mark Robben, while speaking to SYFY WIRE at Comic-Con. "It's kind of an anniversary collection where we're doing a special chrome finish on some of the figures that we made initially. Which is cool because if you follow Funko, you know that once we're done with a figure we retire it. We vault it and you can't get it anymore. So if you didn't get some of those figures from some of the early Marvel films, you'll be able to pick it up with a chrome finish."
According to Robben, Funko went all out and lined up 72 exclusives for Comic-Con alone. But the one he is most proud of is the new Doctor Who Pop figure, which is one of the very first toys for Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor. But if you couldn't make it to Comic-Con, Robben has some good news: a version of the Thirteenth Doctor will be a wide release figure in the future.
