Geoff Johns is happy and excited. And why shouldn't he be?

The absurdly prolific creator made waves Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con when it was revealed that a live-action Stargirl television series would join the growing list of shows on DC Universe, DC's SVOD platform. Johns and Lee Moder created Stargirl in 1999, and he told SYFY WIRE during an extensive conversation at our SDCC Studio that she's a character near and dear to his heart.

Johns recently left his post as DC's Chief Creative Officer to launch his own production company, Mad Ghost, and return to what he says he does best: write and create. He explained that there was no way he could write and executive produce a TV series if he was still in his corporate job.

Check out our interview with Johns below, which also touches on his upcoming Shazam series with his old JSA collaborator Dale Eaglesham, what's coming up with his Doomsday Clock series, and also some detail about working with James Wan on Aquaman (Johns is co-screenwriter). Oh, and he also talks about that "F*** Batman" line in the Titans trailer...
