Later this year, there'll be a new team of Marvel heroines and heroes coming together in the Disney Channel original movie, Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, Ghost-Spider, Quake, America Chavez, Captain Marvel, and more are coming together to face a new threat and establish their bonds of friendship.
At Comic-Con, SYFY WIRE caught up with the actresses behind Marvel Rising, as well as Kamil McFadden, who is very excited to be voicing Patriot in Secret Warriors. Perhaps the most recognizable face is Chloe Bennet, who is reprising her role as Quake/Daisy Johnson from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But according to Bennet, this incarnation of Daisy isn't exactly like her live-action counterpart.
"She was so different because she's younger in this version," explained Bennet. "She's a teen Quake and she's a little bit more spunky. She's a lot more like Skye from [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.] Season 1, so I think that anyone who loved that version of Quake is going to like watching her in this."
Cameron revealed that she's been a longtime fan of Gwen Stacy and she found playing her as Ghost-Spider more empowering than simply portraying her as Spider-Man's girlfriend. Cameron also inadvertently captured the imaginations of her fellow cast members when she shared the story about a room full of Santa mugs from her childhood.
Khavari also told us what playing Ms. Marvel means to her, as she and Vayntrub get to establish Kamala Kahn's friendship with Squirrel Girl.
