We're self-professed fans of Siren, so we were just as excited as anyone to learn that the show had been renewed for a 16-episode second season on Freeform, to premiere sometime in 2019.

When we had the chance to sit down with the cast at San Diego Comic-Con this year, they told us what happened when they got the news that the show had been renewed. For Eline Powell, who plays mermaid Ryn, her reaction was definitely true to her character: "I had a few salty tears running down."

We chatted with Powell as well as Fola Evans-Akingbola (Maddie), Alex Roe (Ben), Ian Verdun (Xander), and Rena Owen (Helen) about the show's core "love triangle" (according to Owen), whether or not Ryn and Ben will be able to stay away from each other with the siren's song between them, and which side they would choose in a human versus mermaid war. Check out the full interview below!
