This weekend at SDCC during the tenth anniversary panel for Dave Filoni's The Clone Wars, news broke that a seventh and final season was being crafted for Disney's streaming service sometime next year. This surprise announcement of a new 12-episode finale set the crowd ablaze with excitement and called for an encore performance of the rousing two-minute-plus trailer.
One of the most elated attendees was the effervescent Ashley Eckstein, who performed vocal duties for the character of Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which ran from 2008-2013 before being abruptly cancelled to make way for Star Wars: Rebels and other feature projects.
SYFY WIRE chatted with Eckstein at the pop-culture pageant in San Diego to get her tear-bursting reaction to the show being saved, hear her experiences working with Clone Wars mastermind Dave Filoni, learn what the future holds for Ahsoka, and check out Her Universe's flashy new Captain Marvel-themed clothing line.
