FOX's The Gifted tackled a range of issues in its 13-episode first season. As the show heads into Season 2, it's anyone's guess what will be touched on next. Well, anyone's guess but the mutants themselves, at least.
When we had the opportunity to speak to some of The Gifted's cast at San Diego Comic-Con this year, we asked them if there were any particularly relevant storylines they were hoping to explore in the new season.
Stephen Moyer (Reed Strucker), Emma Dumont (Lorna Dane/Polaris), Sean Teale (Marcos Diaz/Eclipse), Blair Redford (John Proudstar/Thunderbird), Skyler Samuels (Esme, Sophie, and Phoebe Frost) and Natalie Alyn Lind (Lauren Strucker) joined us in conversation to discuss what they want to touch on via their characters in Season 2.
For Dumont and Teale, whose characters found themselves on opposing sides of a brewing conflict last season (and who are also parents of an unborn child), each mentioned motherhood and fatherhood, respectively, as something Polaris and Eclipse will have to deal with. As for the Struckers, Lind and Moyer emphasized the importance of truth-telling when it comes to family — though Moyer mentioned that Reed might have some learning to do in that arena.
