It's been five long years since we could talk about actual new episodes of Young Justice. The series was dead in the water on Cartoon Network, then rumblings of a third season, Young Justice: Outsiders, started to emerge once Netflix got the rights to stream the two seasons of Young Justice. Fans were instructed to stream, binge and rewatch the series to their heart's content and hopefully send a message that there's enough interest for more.
Finally, the day has come to usher in some new Young Justice!
Subscribers to the newly announced DC Universe digital service will be the exclusive audience for Young Justice: Outsiders. Right now the series is slated to begin airing the first 13 episodes after the first season of Titans runs its course. The second set of 13 episodes will begin dropping after Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing finish their 10-episode first seasons.
SYFY WIRE spoke to the showrunners Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, art director Phil Bourassa and cast members Stephanie Lemelin (Artemis) and Troy Baker (Geo-Force) at San Diego Comic-Con about the time jump, the political climate of Young Justice, making binge-worthy cartoons, and maintaining the palette and look. Oh, and there's a PSA at the end on how to ensure we see a Season 4 and Season 5.
