Time flies when you're having fun and hunting down demons. Now that Shadowhunters is firmly ensconced within its third season, there's been a lot of necessary growth for its leading lady—and the actress who brings Clary Fray to life is constantly marveling about how much the character has grown.
Sitting down with SYFY WIRE, series star Katherine McNamara not only took the time to answer some fan questions heading into the mid-season finale, but as you can see in this video, she also spoke a little bit about the narrative trajectory of her character and what's changed for her in Season 3.
"Season 1 was all about learning about the world and figuring out what it is that she's been thrown into, and Season 2 was kind of about finding her place in that world and really solidifying her choice ... Season 3 is coincidentally about dealing with the consequences of all of her actions," said McNamara, while adding that Clary might be a heroine, but she's not a perfect heroine: "While she has the best of intentions, she's made a lot of mistakes along the way."
But it wasn't all serious introspection; McNamara also regaled us with a bit of an insider look at the Clace pairing (that stands for Clary/Jace), as well as hilarious anecdotes from the set. What happened when the stunt team had to recreate Clary falling from an eight-story building onto the roof of a car? It's definitely an interesting story.
