Hard to believe Shadowhunters is already in its third season! As the supernatural drama series is gearing up for its two-hour midseason finale later tonight, one of the series' stars took some time to answer some burning fan questions.
SYFY WIRE's Karama Horne sat down with actress Katherine McNamara, who plays the show's heroine, Clary Fray. The actress shared what song described Clary's journey this season (there are actually two), regaled us with the story of a fun prank that happened on set, and revealed what has been the most challenging scene to do.
"The season finale last year was so intense," McNamara told us. "Being on the beach with Alan [Van Sprang], the whole fight, killing Valentine, and then watching Jace die and all of the stuff that happened. We shot that all night long on the beach, outside. We were all crying for ten hours but it was also one of my favorite experiences because it's one of those magic moments that happens on set where all three of us... we've been working for years to build that relationship and to build the culmination of that scene. And all of us just clicked in to some hive mind, wonderful set magic, and it just kind of happened."
McNamara also gave us a small tease for tonight's midseason finale, saying: "It's some of the most challenging stuff I've done on the show just because it's so different, and it takes Clary down a peg to build her back up again."
