The cast of IFC’s upcoming horror-comedy series Stan Against Evil were on hand at New York Comic Con to sit down and have a chat with us, teasing the new series and revealing which monsters they’d like to go toe to toe with.
The half-hour series stars John C. McGinley (Scrubs) as a former small-town sheriff forced to team-up with the new sheriff in town, played by Janet Varney (You’re the Worst, The Legend of Korra), to take down 172 freshly unleashed demons burned at the stake for witchcraft back in the 17th century. So far, so intriguing, right?
The two actors discussed the show, along with executive producer Dana Gould (The Simpsons, Parks and Recreation), who summed up Stan Against Evil as a “sitcom trapped in a horror movie.” While the first interview digs into the overall plot and characters, the second asks what monster they would love to face to off against, “copyright be damned.” Take a look, and let us know what you think.
The first season of Stan Against Evil will kick off with two back to back episodes on Nov. 2 on IFC.
