What started as a funny little in-joke has grown into one of the biggest recurring cameos in film history, as Marvel icon Stan Lee has popped up in everything from Thor to Iron Man in recent years. Now, with work on Amazing Spider-Man 2 getting ready to ramp up, Lee is aiming even higher for his latest guest spot.
It's almost become a game among fans to try and guess or spot Lee's new cameo, as the 89-year-old has played everything from a truck driver to a mailman, and his turn as a clueless librarian in Amazing Spider-Man was among the best.
So what next? Excelsior is tired of playing minor roles, and is ribbing Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb to give him something a little meatier the next time around.
Lee popped in during Collider's recent interview with Webb and tossed out a few ideas for what he'd like to see next. It's nice to see the two get along so well, and it's great to know Lee is such a huge fan of Webb's take on the classic webslinger.
