Even though August is slowly drawing to a close, it’s all about summer reading in this week’s video edition of Who Won the Week, since we (hopefully) still have more beach days to look forward to. SYFY WIRE’s Jackie Jennings is joined by contributing editor Karama Horne where the dynamic duo shared what’s currently on their reading list.

Let's start with Karama, who is currently reading Brian Michael Bendis’ new comic book title, Pearl. The comic is about a talented tattoo artist who also becomes an accidental assassin. The time is ripe to pick this one up, since the first issue hit store shelves on Aug. 15. Also on her current reading list is I Hate Fairyland, penned by Skottie Young and published by Image Comics.

As for Jackie, she's currently reading The Three-Body Problem, a sci-fi novel by Chinese writer Liu Cixin, which won the Hugo Award for best novel in 2015. The book even got a recommendation by former POTUS Barack Obama. She’s also playing catchup with V.E. Schwab’s Villains series by reading the first book (titled Vicious) ahead of Vengeful, the hotly anticipated second novel, slated to be released Sept. 25.
