Doctor Doom may not be the very first supervillain in the pages of Marvel Comics, but he's definitely the first arch-supervillain. First appearing in Fantastic Four #5 in 1962, Doom quickly became the FF's most prominent nemesis, and has remained among the most feared supervillains in the Marvel Universe ever since.
Doom's status as one of the original Marvel supervillains has always made him a fan favorite, and that means he's been in a lot of comics, well beyond adventures in which he's battling the Fantastic Four. He's teamed up with various villains and heroes over the years, led events, gone cosmic, teamed up with bitter enemies, and even occasionally done some good. There was even that time when he was Iron Man for a while.
With all that in mind, if you're looking to get into Doom's entire villainous history, you're left with quite a few comics to choose from. Where do you start? That's where we come in. For the latest video in our 7 Essentials series, as a spiritual sequel of sorts to the "7 Essential Fantastic Four Stories," we're bringing you seven Doom stories you just can't live without, from a universe-spanning event book to a fun miniseries to one of his most beloved early stories.
