In the wake of successful fantasy genre fare like Game of Thrones, as well as shows more rooted in history such as Vikings, Amazon is now rolling out its own swords-driven series, and you can watch the very first trailer for the new show now.

Called Britannia, the series takes place in 43 AD during the Roman conquest of Britain. The official summary offers up a little more info on what to expect from the upcoming historically based series, which sounds like it will include a touch of fantasy, as well:

Britannia begins in 43AD as the Roman Army, determined and terrified in equal measure, returns to crush the Celtic heart of Britannia, a mysterious land ruled by warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the mysterious forces of the Underworld. Arch Celtic rivals Kerra and Antedia must face the Roman invasion led by Aulus Plautius as it cuts a swathe through the Celtic Resistance.

The show's main cast includes several familiar faces from genre media of yore, including The Walking Dead's David Morrissey, Sherlock Holmes' Kelly Reilly, Star Wars' Ian McDiarmid, Pirates of the Caribbean's Mackenzie Crook, and Harry Potter's Zoe Wanamaker.

The 10-part series will be available in full via Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. on Jan. 18. We've already called it one of our 18 shows to watch in 2018, but now that you've had a first glimpse, what do you think? Will you be watching?
