The new Syfy Films horror thriller 400 Days is set to open theatrically next year, and it features a whole lot of familiar faces for genre fans.
The film, which will be released theatrically and on VOD via Syfy Films, follows a team of four aspiring astronauts as they are locked away for 400 days on a simulated mission. The mid-budget sci-fi horror tale stars a bevy of sci-fi alums, including Arrow co-stars Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz. Flash co-star Tom Cavanagh also makes an appearance, along with former Defiance star Grant Bowler. The rest of the core cast is filled out by Dane Cook and Ben Feldman.
The project is billed as a “psychological sci-fi film” centered on four astronauts who are sent on a simulated mission to a distant planet to test the psychological effects of deep space travel. Locked away for 400 days (get it?), the crew’s mental state begins to deteriorate when they lose all communication with the outside world. Forced to exit the “ship,” they discover their mission may not have been a simulation after all.
As for the trailer, it looks like a freaky good time. There are elements of everything from Solaris to Alien to 2001: A Space Odyssey and Pandorum mixed in. Here's hoping it's worth the wait.
