It was a long, cold 14 months since the last Outlander season, but we made it through! The Season 3 premiere, "The Battle Joined," picked right up with what happened to Jamie Fraser at the Battle of Culloden, and its aftermath, in 1746. Meanwhile, Claire and Frank Randall are new expats in Boston in 1948. Pregnant Claire is trying to move on from Jamie, the love of her life, but as the episode portrays, it's not an easy transition.
Per usual, Caitriona Balfe (Claire), Sam Heughan (Jamie), and Tobias Menzies (Frank/Black Jack) crushed our little hearts playing the pain of each of their characters' current predicaments. For a special treat, we got to talk to all three actors for an exclusive video post-mortem of "The Battle Joined" where the trio talk about playing the emotional fallout of Jamie and Black Jack's moment on the battlefield, and the fraught marriage of Claire and Frank.
Warning: Spoilers for the Season 3 premiere are discussed in the video. Watch after viewing "The Battle Joined":
