Ethan Hunt's back for another crazy globe-spanning adventure in the first trailer for Mission: Impossible - Fallout. The ad for the sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise dropped during the Super Bowl, but Paramount was teasing the film in the run-up to the big game with photo reveals and teasers for the teaser, as is customary in today's marketing culture. We got a good look at Tom Cruise as Hunt, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickel.

A full trailer then dropped online, which you can watch below:

Christopher McQuarrie returned after Rogue Nation, the only director to do so in the entire film series. According to him, the movie's title "has multiple meanings in the film, from the literal to the figurative. “There is the threat of nuclear terrorism hanging over the movie,” while there’s also “the notion that what’s happened in the movie is the end result of choices that Ethan Hunt has made in his life.” The life of a spy is a treacherous one and, as we’ve seen before in the series, Hunt’s heart can often win out over his head. This movie focuses on “the fallout of all his good intentions.”

The productions on these projects are always notable for the insane stunts, but Tom Cruise was seriously injured last summer while attempting one of them. How his exploits will top his literally hanging out of a moving airplane from the last movie is yet to be seen.

Other returning faces are Sean Harris (Solomon Lane, head of the Syndicate), Jeremy Renner (William Brandt, an IMF field operations director), and Alec Baldwin (Alan Hunley, newly christened director of the IMF).

Misison: Impossible - Fallout rappels from the ceiling into theaters July 27.
