Trying to find out spoilers for The Walking Dead has almost become a blood sport among certain hardcore fans, but what do the creators of the show think of the spoiler “industry”?
We caught up with producer David Alpert to talk about the issue in regard to the hit zombie series, and he said the creators are certainly flattered that fans care enough to spend so much time and energy dissecting the series and trying to get spy shots from future episodes. But the trouble begins when these things get out there into the zeitgeist and can ruin the surprise for fans who may not want to be spoiled in regard to the next Big Bad and which character may (or may not) die.
Love them or hate them, spoilers have almost certainly become a part of mainstream pop culture these days. But it’s hard to argue with Alpert’s take (and he certainly has a rare view of the phenomenon).
