All throughout Black History Month we've been highlighting awesome heroes, and today we turn the spotlight on the second Doctor Midnight, Beth Chapel.

Doctor Midnight first donned a really spectacular yellow and black costume in Infinity Inc. #21 in 1985. Beth Chapel was the protege of Dr. Charles McNider, the first Dr. Mid-Nite from the Justice Society of America. Like her mentor, she was also blind but could see in complete darkness.

Doctor Midnight was one of the few black female superheroes at the time of her debut. Also, she had really great boots and could do backflips without any training.
