We're not all that far away from the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it's hard to fathom that we're getting more big-screen goodness from the galaxy far, far away when we still haven't fully digested the Blu-ray of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Is that even possible? We never ask that question until after they've done it.

Ready or not, Solo is coming, and it's time to get excited. Between Han, Lando, Qi'Ra, and Therm Scissorpunch, the movie looks like a blast— and a new in-canon novel has recently arrived that will ramp up your excitement even more.

Written by Daniel Jose Older, Star Wars: Last Shot takes place (mostly) in three different time periods — the period right before Solo: A Star Wars Story, a year or two before Star Wars: A New Hope, and then the period of (brief) galactic peace leading up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Though there is a wealth of characters to enjoy in the book (both old and new), it is truly a story about Han and Lando, and the very special (and volatile) bond that the two of them share.

To get you ready for Solo: A Star Wars Story, we've created this video about all of the book's most pertinent information, as well as some other fun things Last Shot introduces. Though we do talk about the book's story, we don't really spoil anything. If you like what you see, you should definitely pick up the book. It is available now, and it is one of the most fun Star Wars books to come around in a long time.
