You all know what "sweding" is, right? Inspired by Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind, it's when ambitious young filmmakers attempt to reproduce real movies using nothing but ingenuity and spare change. Now some enterprising sweders have taken a whack at Peter Jackson's first trailer for The Hobbit, with unexpectedly awesome results.

I'm not going to spoil too much of this by talking about it, other than to say that cotton-ball-beard Gandalf totally rocks and the dwarves' musical interlude is both surprisingly well done and pretty damned inspired.

"From the director of Meet the Feebles trilogy." Perfect.
