Watch deliciously cheesy Blade Runner doc seen at 1982 sci-fi cons

Sure, Blade Runner is a classic NOW, but back in 1982, before anyone had seen any footage of the film, it was a gamble. So Ridley Scott put together a behind-the-scenes look which was screened at sci-fi conventions to win over the fans. And 29 years later, it's more revealing than ever before.

Scott, looking impossibly young, begins with a generic one-size-fits-all "welcome to this year's convention," makes sure we all know he's the guy responsible for Alien and then lets concept designer Syd Mead and FX wizard Douglas Trumbull share the screen.

Give it a look, and learn which taboo word would cause the director to hit you upside the head with a baseball bat if you ever dared utter it.
