The werewolf drama Bitten is set to howl at the moon one more time, before riding off into the night.
The Syfy (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed.) and Space (in Canada) series will wrap up with a third and final season in 2016. After that, Laura Vandervoort and her gang of good-looking lycanthropes are done. It's always sad to see a show end, but at least the writers will have a chance to hopefully plan for the finale. Here’s what Space exec Tracey Pearce had to say about the decision:
"With the incomparable Laura Vandervoort at the helm, Bitten was a ferocious drama from the get-go and we are so proud to have seen it make its mark in the television landscape from its home on Space. Along with the many devoted fans, we cannot wait to see what happens with Elena and the rest of The Pack as the Bitten saga finally culminates in Season 3.”
The final season will premiere Feb. 12 on Space. No air date has been set yet for the Syfy premiere, though we’d imagine it’ll likely be fairly close to the Canadian debut.
The acquired show has been an under-the-radar performer for Syfy, and is set to end just as the network ramps up a renewed slate of original sci-fi fare. Though fans will certainly miss Bitten, the network has high-profile projects such as The Expanse, Childhood’s End, The Magicians, 12 Monkeys, Killjoys (which is surprisingly great) and a few others all on the way.
