Wesley Snipes has exchanged battling blood-sucking vampires for some good old-fashioned aliens in the first trailer for sci-fi thriller The Recall.
The movie directed by Mauro Borelli (Borelli worked on several big-budget productions, including Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Captain America: The First Avenger and Star Wars: The Last Jedi as illustrator and/or concept artist) features the Blade star as an eccentric and mysterious hunter helping a group of friends when aliens launch an attack on Earth.
The official press release says the alien invasion movie was actually filmed for Barco Escape, the new three-screen, panoramic theaters (we've included some sample shots below to give you an idea of what it'll look like). It’s also one of the first movies to film a VR short starring the lead actors. Read up on the official synopsis before digging into the trailer:
The Recall centers on a group of friends vacationing at a remote cabin lake house when aliens attack Earth. Charlie (Jedidah Goodacre) and his friends Brendan (R.J. Mitte), Annie (Laura Bilgeri), Rob (Niko Pepaj), and Kara (Hannah Rose May) are forced to rely on an eccentric and mysterious hunter (Wesley Snipes) with special knowledge of the attack, explaining this day has been prophesied for years.
The Recall will open on June 2 across select Barco Escape theaters in the U.S., along with the virtual reality short The Recall Abduction available to buy on all VR platforms. The movie will also hit select 2D theaters and VOD on June 16.
